Parks & Recreation Commission

The Bethany Parks and Recreation Commission was established by Town Meeting on May 11, 1960.  One of the original functions of this group was maintaining the town swimming hole at Peck Pond.  Over the years, recreational programs have grown significantly and there is now a formal Parks & Recreation Department with full and part-time staff.  The department runs after school programs, athletics and events, in addition to managing several town facilities such as Veteran's Memorial Park and the Old Airport Property.  The Commission provides oversight for the Department's activities.
