3/14/2025 - Town of Bethany Hires a New Parks and Recreation Director

Bethany Welcomes Nicolle Vigneron

as New Parks and Recreation Director

 

The Town of Bethany is pleased to announce the hiring of Nicolle Vigneron as the new Parks and Recreation Director. Nicolle brings over 30 years of experience in recreation management, project coordination, and organizational leadership to the role. She will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the town's parks and recreation programs, facilities, and initiatives. Ms. Vigneron emerged as the top candidate from a pool of 49 applicants and was unanimously approved by the Board of Selectmen.

"Her extensive experience, proven track-record with developing well-run programs, and dedication to fostering vibrant community engagement make her the ideal person to lead our Parks and Recreation Department." Paula Cofrancesco, Bethany’s First Selectwoman, shared, “Nicolle's expertise in strategic planning and program development, combined with her leadership training and crisis management experience, enables her to tackle immediate challenges while devising long-term solutions for our community.”

 

Ms. Vigneron comes to Bethany from the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Greater New Haven in Woodbridge, CT, where she most recently served as the JCC Assistant Director, a position she held from March 2021 to present. In this role, she was responsible for the overall strategic planning, business development, and the effective management of JCC programs and departments, including aquatics, early childhood, youth and after-school programming, summer camp, and wellness programs. Prior to her role as Assistant Director, Nicolle served as the Director of Health and Physical Education at the JCC and the Athletic Director and Director of Sports and Enrichment at Laurelton Hall in Milford, CT. 

 

Nicolle has a reputation of developing and implementing safe and successful recreation programs and initiatives. She has spearheaded a diverse range of community activities, from sports leagues and day camps to senior and youth programming and special events like craft fairs and 5k runs. She is dedicated to fostering positive relationships with community members and delivering exceptional recreational experiences.
