Democratic & Republican Primaries - August 13, 2024
A Democratic Primary for Judge of Probate and a Republican Primary for U.S. Senate will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, between the hours of 6am to 8pm at Town Hall, 40 Peck Road, Bethany. Only enrolled party members can vote in these primaries. The deadline for Unaffiliated electors to enroll in a party, or new voters to register and enroll prior to Primary Day in-person, is 12 noon on Monday, August 12.

In addition to Primary Day, Early Voting will be available between August 5 to August 11. Early Voting days and hours will be as follows:
• Monday, August 5, 2024: 10am to 6pm
• Tuesday, August 6, 2024: 8am to 8pm
• Wednesday, August 7, 2024: 10am to 6pm
• Thursday, August 8, 2024: 8am to 8pm
• Friday, August 9, 2024: 10am-6pm
• Saturday, August 10, 2024: 10am-6pm
• Sunday, August 11, 2024: 10am-6pm
Early Voting will take place in the Commission Room at the Bethany Town Hall. Please bring your ID with you to vote and note there is NO Same Day Registration for a Primary. Please visit the CT Secretary of the State website, via this link, for more Early Voting information:

Here is some useful information regarding to Primary Voting:
• When you registered to vote, you were asked “Do you wish to enroll in a Political Party?” If you chose “No”, you are not eligible to vote in a Democratic or Republican Primary, unless you take further action prior to voting.
• If you are Unaffiliated (checked “No”), you can change to a party by noon on August 12 before the primary, to vote on August 13.
• If you are Unaffiliated and wish to participate in Early Voting, you can change to a party by noon on August 2.
• If you are a new voter and wish to participate in Early Voting, you can register and enroll by noon on the business day prior to the day you want to vote.
• If you are affiliated with any party, including “Independent”, as that is a party in CT, you would have had to change your party 90 days before the primary. With the Primary on August 13, 2024, 90 days before was May 13, 2024.
