November 25, 2020

Included below are the color-coded COVID-19 alert maps in this week’s update for comparison. As indicated on the map below, our rate had gone up to 24.8% per the State calculation based on 100,000 population for the 11/01/2020 – 11/14/2020 two-week period.  Our cases for last week are lower, but unfortunately the rate has increased to 27.4% and we remain in the Red category as noted in the map on the right (covering 11/8/2020 – 11/21/2020).  Remember, there will always be the overlap of one week to make any corrections to the data.

Please carefully consider the places you go and the number of people who are gathered there.  It is for your safety and those around you.  The Department of Public Health reports that the transmission of the virus is originating primarily as a result of activities outside of your “bubble” or associating with people who are not wearing masks and/or not maintaining the appropriate social distancing or regular handwashing.

We are all in this together, and it is up to all of us to do the right thing.  Once again, for your safety, and the safety of all of those around you, please follow the guidelines and protocols.

We will continue the weekly updates on Fridays (due to Thanksgiving, the state released the data on Nov 25) so that we can provide the most up-to-date information which is issued by the State on Thursday evenings.  The weekly COVID-19 updates will be posted via the Town website and Town Facebook page at this time.

For more information you can go to the State website:

A reminder: All data reported is preliminary and changes daily; data is updated as new reports are received and data errors are corrected.

As always – We are a community together, even when apart!
We are Bethany strong!
Please be kind!
Thank you and please stay safe!
