For Bulky Waste Drop Off – By Appointment Only

Leave your name, address, contact number, type and volume of material to be dropped off. You will be contacted by Thursday with your appointment status for Saturday. The earlier in the week you call, the more likely you will be approved for the coming Saturday as space is limited. There is no charge for this service to residents.

For Bulky Waste Pickup “Fee For Service”
Bulk pick up will be performed by R.W.S. by appointment on the third Friday of each month for a modest fee. Text a picture to 203-334-1660 for a quote and to make an appointment. Prepayment by credit card is required. Note that if actual curbside bulk does not match the picture there may be an additional charge–so gather everything before calling. To obtain more information call R.W.S. directly at 203-334-1660.

When is normal curbside trash pickup?
Residential Waste Systems (RWS) picks up according to the schedule below:
What hours is recycling open?
Wednesdays: 8 AM to 4PM
Fridays: 8AM to 4PM
Saturdays 8 AM to 4 PM
Please note: A resident sticker is required in order to use the recycling facilities. Free stickers are available at the Town Hall

What do I do with bulky waste?
Bulky Waste (furniture, carpeting, and other large non-recyclable, non-hazardous items) is available on Saturdays at the recycling center BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. To make arrangements, contact:

Leave your name, address, phone number, volume and type of bulky waste and someone from the office will contact you to confirm your requested date or provide an alternate date if your requested date is no longer available.

NOTE TO CONTRACTORS: Waste from large remodeling projects (roofing shingles, etc.) may not be brought to the recycling center. You must get your own dumpster.
What do I do with hazardous waste?
Hazardous Waste (paints, solvents, chemicals) may be disposed of at HazWaste Central at the Regional Water Authority building on Long Wharf in New Haven. Click the link below for current information and seasonal schedule.
Is there a community tag sale in Bethany?
Yes. There is a Bethany Lions Club-sponsored Flea Market held at the Airport every Saturday from May through October from 7AM through 1PM. For details, click on Bethany Lions Club.
