Clean Energy Task Force

The Bethany Clean Energy Task Force (CETF) was created in 2005 to participate in Connecticut’s 20% by 2010 campaign, an initiative to encourage community action in support of putting Connecticut’s consumers on a path to having 20 percent of their electricity supply come from clean, renewable energy sources by the year 2010. Bethany residents responded to this challenge, and as a result,  Bethany was awarded 14kW of free solar arrays for our town buildings which now sit on the roofs of the new and old firehouses, Town Hall, and the Bethany Community School.

The Bethany CETF continues to provide opportunities to reduce home energy use, and to acquire discounts on solar energy and home insulation.  We have developed this website to provide links to important resources, announcements of upcoming events, and to describe ongoing as well as completed programs. There are also links to the history of the Bethany CETF, highlighting the contributions and accomplishments of the Clean Energy community.

We continue to provide residents of the Town of Bethany with opportunities to conserve energy as well as save money.  Feel free to join us, as we are always looking for new members!
